Congrats to MSNBC’s Melissa Harris- Perry & her Husband for the ultimate Valentines Day GIft.
Clutch Magazine reports:
MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry and her husband James Perry received the best Valentine’s Day gift yesterday when they welcomed their new daughter into the world.
The couple’s adopted daughter was born on V-Day, and the proud parents are over the moon. The Perrys, who have been married since 2010 and co-parent Parker, Melissa’s daughter from a previous marriage, are excited to welcome their newest addition to the family.
Both Melissa and James tweeted the news of their daughter’s birth, Melissa calling the little one “a #TinyNerdinNerdland.”
The Perrys join the ranks of other high profile African American families who have adopted. Al Roker and his wife Deborah Roberts adopted their daughter Courtney in 1987; Magic and Cookie Johnson adopted a daughter, Elisa, in 1995; Alfre Woodard and her husband adopted a son, Duncan, and a daughter, Mavis; Viola Davis and her husband Julius Tennon adopted a baby girl in 2011; and Scandal showrunner Shonda Rhimes adopted two daughters in 2002 and 2012.
Congrats!
