Boko Haram, the same terrorist group that kidnapped more than 200 Nigerian schoolgirls last spring, has executed the “deadliest massacre” in the its history, according to Amnesty International. It is feared that over 2,000 civilians have been murdered, with the majority of them being women, children and the elderly. Many of the bodies that were found were described as “strewn” in the bushes of Baga, a town that borders on fellow country Chad, where those that were able to escape have sought refuge.

“The human carnage perpetrated by Boko Haram terrorists in Baga was enormous,” as the spokesman for Nigeria’s defense group against Haram, Muhammad Abba Gava, told the Associated Press. Haram used rocket-propelled grenades, petrol bombs and rifles on innocent people, even frightening the government soldiers. This is their biggest onslaught since March 14, 2014 when they attacked unarmed, freed detainees in town of Maiduguri.

World news sources like the BBC are suggesting that the motive behind the Islamic extremists’ deadly uprise is the presidential election in five weeks. Chad’s Prime Minister Kalzeubet Pahim has expressed fear that more attacks could be underway. There is a current state of emergency and more troops have been called in because Boko Haram is continuing to seize towns in West and Northern Africa. They have already “burnt to the ground” towns and villages including Kauyen Kuros and Bunduram.

This is s terrible tragedy. And it seems the world is erupting in violence and death.  What do you think beauties? Sound off in the comments below.
