Nicki Minaj & Meek Mill Rent Out Theater For 'Straight Outta Compton'

Taking to Instagram this past Saturday (August 15), Nicki Minaj revealed that herself and boyfriend Meek Mill rented out an entire movie theater to watch the recently released N.W.A biopic, Straight Outta Compton.

“When u & bae rent out the entire theatre to watch #StraightOutttaCompton with the team,” Minaj wrote in the post’s caption field.

Minaj also hinted at a “secret” project her and former N.W.A member Ice Cube are working on. The two have recently worked together on the forthcoming Barbershop 3 film, which is set to be released in 2016.

“so proud of Ice Cube,” Minaj adds. “Can’t wait to reveal our lil secret.”

Straight Outta Compton, which was released this past Friday (August 14), pulled in an impressive $56 million at the box office this weekend, succeeding expectations and crushing its second closest competitor, Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation, by nearly $40 million. According to Billboard, the movie, which is based on the lives of Eazy-E, Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, MC Ren and DJ Yella, was greeted with an enthusiastic A CinemaScore from moviegoers. The biopic’s successful opening weekend started with Thursday night screenings, which racked up a cool $4.96 million.
