As a hairstylist, it doesn’t matter if I’m having a conversation with a stranger or watching my favorite TV show, I always notice their hair.  New York Fashion Week is a time I look forward to seeing how the designers have used the models hair to accessorize their collections.  This season, the hair on the runway left me underwhelmed. Nevertheless, there were a few courageous designers who decided to push the limits and take the hairstyles for their fashion shows to next level hairspiration.

Here are my Top 3 Hairstyles from New York Fashion Week:

A Fun Bun:

We love a good hair bun and so does Marchesa. But this is not your average bun, their hairstylist vamped up these low ponytails to create a sexy bun with a twist, literally. This winding hairstyle is romantic and whimsical, a definite date night look!

No Nip, Just Tuck:

Nothing like a haircut to change up your look, but most woman aren’t always interested in making a big chop. Vera Wang showed everyone how you can attain that short hair look without cutting a thing. You don’t have to be Houdini to achieve this look!

Fingerwaves Are Back:

Marc Jacobs cwasn’t playing any games this fashion week. He stepped all the way outside of the box by incorporating a classic hairstyle into his models look for his show. Fingerwaves rose to fame in the 1920s and became super popular in the 90s, but now they are back like they never left. Don’t worry, you can finger wave your hair at many lengths as we see with the model below.

These designers definitely decided to forgo the basic straight hair or ponytail for their looks and I’m elated. I loved how they shook up New York Fashion Week and I can’t wait to show you ladies how to Get the Look!
