iLoveMakonnen Comes Out As Gay

People are setting themselves free of anything holding them back this year.

Just days after Chance the Rapper‘s brother, Taylor, admitted that he is bisexual, another star took to social media to speak his truth. On Friday, iLoveMakonnen came out as gay via Twitter with a series of tweets, playing off of his surprise announcement.

The rapper wrote, “As a fashion icon, I can’t tell u about everybody else’s closet, I can only tell u about mine, and it’s time I’ve come out. And since y’all love breaking news, here’s some old news to break, I’m gay. And now I’ve told u about my life, maybe u can go life yours.”

With the history of rap including very few openly gay men, it’s great to see change happening right before our eyes. Congrats, Makonnen.
