When your childhood bestie teams up with your adult music therapist… dreams really do come true. SZA and Elmo teamed up! The Grammy-winning artist recently dropped by the beloved Sesame Street to share some life-changing wisdom, and it’s absolutely adorable.

In a clip from the episode airing Thursday (April 10), SZA is spotted filling a gratitude jar with pictures and notes of things she’s thankful for when Elmo, Abby, and Gabrielle bounce in. Of course, Elmo, with his signature curiosity, asks, “What’s Miss SZA doing?” To which the singer responds, “I’m just adding this picture to my gratitude jar.”

And just like that, SZA goes full-on life coach, explaining the concept of the gratitude jar to her new fuzzy friends. “A gratitude jar is a place where you can put words or pictures of things you’re grateful for,” she explains, giving Elmo and the crew a mini-lesson on self-care. “Sometimes when you feel sad or have other really big feelings, it can be easy to forget the things that we’re thankful for,” she adds with compassion. “The jar helps us remember.” And honestly, we’re all here for this wholesome advice.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a proper SZA moment without some music, so the “Kill Bill” singer proceeds to serenade the Sesame Street crew with a sweet song about kindness and gratitude. “Be kind to me, be kind to you, / Being kind is how I show my gratitude,” SZA sings, and we couldn’t agree more. Her catchy, feel-good tune is the perfect reminder that kindness truly is the best medicine—and self-love is essential to living your best life.

This appearance on Sesame Street is part of the show’s 55th season, which has featured other musical stars like Reneé Rapp, Noah Kahan, and an upcoming cameo from Chris Stapleton. But let’s be real—SZA and Elmo might just be the most iconic duo we’ve seen on the show in a while.

In case you’ve been living under a rock, SZA is riding high with her GNX duet with Kendrick Lamar, “Luther,” sitting pretty at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for seven weeks. And with her Grand National Tour kicking off April 19 in Minneapolis, she’s about to hit stadiums across North America.

Life lessons people of all ages can benefit from—SZA and Elmo: practice kindness, spread gratitude, and, of course, never underestimate the power of a good, feel-good song.
