Jeffrey Epstein Appears In Manhattan Federal Court On Sex Trafficking Charges

In 2019, Jeffrey Epstein was arrested and charged with sex trafficking and was rumored to be an elite-level pimp providing underage girls to wealthy men. Before Epstein would face trial, he allegedly committed suicide.

Many Trump supporters believe that Epstein was murdered to prevent the release of a possible client list that would expose several wealthy and powerful men.

During his run to the White House, President Trump vowed to release the Jeffrey Epstein files. Since taking office, the president’s tune has changed. He’s not only claiming that there won’t be a release of the Epstein files, but he’s also considering the case closed.

On Monday, House Democrats pushed to force the Justice Department to release all records related to Epstein, and House Republicans blocked it.

From Salon:

“The House Rules Committee voted 6–5 to prevent the measure from moving to a full House vote. The amendment, introduced by Rep. Ro Khanna, D-Calif., would have required Attorney General Pam Bondi to post all Epstein-related documents on a publicly accessible website within 30 days. All Republicans on the panel opposed the move except for Rep. Ralph Norman, R-S.C. Democrats acknowledged it was unlikely to pass but designed to put the GOP on record.”

Republicans, who were once in favor of releasing the Epstein files, have created a split between themselves and MAGA faithfuls who want all documents released to the public.

“This is about trust. Republicans said, ‘Trust us. Vote for us and we’ll release these files.’ Here we are — they’re backtracking,” said Rep. Jim McGovern, D-Mass.

McGovern didn’t hold back as to why he believes President Trump doesn’t want the documents released, alluding to the Trump and Epstein’s well-documented friendship.

“I think we all want to know why Trump is suddenly changing his tune and is so desperate to sweep this under the rug,” McGovern said, Salon reports.
