University Of Maryland Student Arrested Following Threat
(College Park, MD) — Police say a student at the University of Maryland has been arrested after threatening on the Internet to go on a shooting rampage at the campus. According to a statement by the University Police, the student posted statements on the Internet saying that he would be on a shooting rampage on campus and that “hopefully I kill enough people to make it to national news.” An investigation has led the authorities to believe the Internet statements came from 19-year old Alexander Song of Fulton, Maryland who is currently a student at UMD in College Park. Song was arrested and taken to a hospital for an emergency psychiatric evaluation. Authorities say the student was not armed when he was taken into custody.
