Michigan radio station WUVS 103.7 has decided to ban the music of Lil Wayne’s and Rick Ross’s due to the recent controversy both artists have had around their lyrics.

Ross has not apologized for his lyrics that implied date-rape in “U.O.E.N.O.” and Wayne has not apologized for his Emmitt Till lyric in “Karate Chop.”  Since Rozay and Weezy have shown no remorse, WUVS banned their music and issued a statement:

“Effective immediately Muskegon’s WUVSIp 103.7 the Beat has pulled ALL Lil Wayne and Rick Ross music from the rotation. We pride ourselves on playing music that is non-degrading and non-violent. While we believe in freedom of speech, creative writing and individualism, we refuse to be part of the problem by spreading messages that could harm or end someone’s life.”

It will be interesting to see if the artists respond or how they will respond. It’s also going to be interesting to see how the long radio will keep the ban.
