As we previously reported, King Tech and Sway of “The Wake Up Show” were working hard to give back to up and coming Hip Hop artists, and in doing so, decided there was another worthy cause that needed their attention. So, they designed an entire show around creating a special mix that showcased a handful of up and coming artists and dedicated it to Bay area Hip Hop Legend Saafir to assist with his medical bills.
They were on track to bring tons of attention to their causes last Monday, however with the horrific incidents that took place in Boston on the same day a few hours prior to their shows airing, it’s safe to say the amount of attention they probably would have had, was diverted as the Boston story continued to unfold and most American eyes were glued to their household TV’s.
But the fellas were not shook. They followed through with their plans and remained steadfast toward their goals. The result was a lot more awareness being brought to both the artists on the come up and the artist Saafir, whom has already served the Hip Hop community so well.
King Tech Told The Urban Daily;
“Saafir is very happy – his spirit is back.. he knows people care.Because we the jedi’s have struck back.”
Well, those Jedi’s; Sway and King Tech along with DJ Revolution have also put together a supporting Mixtape to accompany their show from last week. They are calling on the Hip Hop community to show their support for a great cause.
We commend these guys for once again using their platform for an unselfish cause, for bringing attention to themselves and Hip Hop for a positive reason. There’s enough “ratchetivity” associated with the Hip Hop community, and these guys are doing their share to shift the balance back in the right direction!
