Bad gal Ri Ri is a BAD gal indeed!
Rihanna is definitely an artist who has blossomed over the years of her career. When we first met her, no one expected for her to be as big as she is today in the music world. Not only is she able to compete with the best Hip Hop and R&B artists, but Rihanna can hold her own when it comes to Pop and Top 40 as well. This is all proven as she is the FIRST, yes FIRST artist, to have 12 #1 singles on the Billboard charts!
In the 20 year history of Billboard’s Nielsen BDS- based Pop Songs, no one has ever been able to have as many #1 hits as Rihanna. It all started with her first single “S.O.S.”, which came out in 2006. Following her first single, she has led the charts with other songs such as “Umbrella”, “Rude Boy”, and Eminem’s “Love The Way You Lie”. It was her single “Diamond”, from her latest album, Unapologetic, that gave her that 12th #1 hits on Billboard.; (I am going to #keepitfunky and say that I definitely didn’t see this for the “S.O.S.” artist).
Rihanna is making history with this history, as she shares the title of the most #1 songs on the 50+ year history of the Billboard Hot 100, with iconic singer Madonna! There is no denying that Ri Ri is a great artist, and that her music effects the lives of her fans.
