American Idol is known for two things this season. One of them being the amazing talented individuals who have taken the stage, and two…the ongoing beef between judges Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey. Ever since the show began taping, these two have been coming and sending for one another. Last night on Idol was proof that this “beef” is still on the grill, rare.
When Carey found out that Minaj was going to be a judge on the show, she was not as happy as the “Barbie’s” and “Ken’s” around the world. Feeling that Minaj has not done enough just yet as an artist. None the less, the two did what they had to do to work in the same environment. There were recorded spats between the two, and one that even had viewers wondering would one of the judges be kicked off. With the situation that happened last night, Idol producers may want to find a solution to the Nicki vs. Mariah beef.
During the Idol show, there was a segment when the two couldn’t agree on the critique of a contestant. There was also a rift during another portion of the show, when Nicki kindly reached in her bag, pulling out a Q-tip, and handing it in the direction of Mariah so that she could “clean her ears out”. The gesture was so appealing, that #q-tip was trending on Twitter. Fast forward to this morning where the beef should still be in yesterday, celebrity mouth all mighty, Perez Hilton, added fuel to the fire. Nicki responded to Perez’s headline story “Mariah Carey BURNS Nicki Minaj on Idol for lack of #1 songs”. Baffled and tickled by the story, Nicki responded via Twitter
“Bwaha! Burn? Shes sad i tied her record for Hot 100 entries in only 3 years of being in the game. Yep, a black female rapper. What u SHOULD be doing (wit your messy a–) is asking why a woman SO successful at her age, is still so INSECURE, and bitter; All dem #1s but JLo phone ringin? Lol. I guess having a personality, being a secure woman, and giving genuine critique still trumps that. Lol, ok yall r so damn shady! Bye barbz!!!! Mmmuah!!!!”
Well then! With this beef and the talk of JLo returning to Idol as a judge, there may be some changes made for the next season.
