Virginia rapper Pusha T has been in the Hip Hope game for several years. Now that Pusha T is a solo artist, he is making a name for himself without brother Malice, and through the help of G.O.O.D. Music.
This summer, Pusha T will drop his first solo album entitled My Name Is My Name. Now we were told that this album was going to drop sometime in the month of July around the 16th. With that being said, Pusha has decided to push the release back for a month. When it comes to the month push back of his album, he says, “It’s been a lot of music coming out. You got the ‘Ye album, You got the Cole, the Wale. I think Hov’s album is even on the 4th (of July).”
I do understand the logic of his explanation. A lot of GREAT music has come out between the last weeks of June, and the early weeks of July. Even though Pusha T is an amazing artist himself, pushing back the album release is a way for him no to get lost in the sauce of the good music. Pusha T went on to say that My Name Is My Name will be the best album of the year, and that it will be the hardest album of the year, and one that the streets can relate to.
Now I must say that his mixtape Wrath of Cain was a great lead up to the album, but until I hear My Name Is My Name, I’m not sure if it will be the best album of the year (JaLisa Dove’s opinion), but an album HAS to drop before judgement can be made.
