Tracy Martin, the father of Trayvon Martin, will be in Washington D.C. today. Tracy Martin will be speaking at Congressional Caucus on Black Men and Boys on Capitol Hill. This will be the first ever meeting held for the group, and will take place from 3 PM- 5 PM.
Tracy Martin will be speaking on raising a Black man in today’s society, and will also touch on the topic of losing his son, and the verdict. The meeting will focus on “The Status of Black Males: Ensuring Our Boys Mature into Strong Men”.
Other speakers that are scheduled to take th podium are MSNBC host and Georgetown University professor, Michael Eric Dyson, David J. Johns, the head of the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for African Americans, and former Congressman and NAACP President Kweisi Mfume.
The meeting will be led by Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton and Congressman Danny Davis.
