Floyd Mayweather, Jr took home $41 Million for his fight against Saul “Canelo” Alvarez tonight. The two boxers squared off at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas in an attempt to unify the WBA junior middleweight title. Both men were undefeated heading into this match.  At 36 years old Mayweather is entering the twilight of his fight career and the 23-year-old Alvarez is a rising star from Mexico.

But tonight experience won out as Mayweather controlled the fight from start to finish landing 46% of his punches to Alvarez’s 22%.  Though one judge inexplicably scored the bout a tie, the other two judges scored the fight 116 to 112 and 117 to 111 in Floyd’s favor.

“He’s a strong competitor and strong champion,” Mayweather said of his opponent. “It was cool today, I got the job done.”

Mayweather leaves the ring with another victory and remains #TheOne undefeated fighter with a record of 45 and 0. This was his second fight in a calendar year, the first time he’s fought twice in a year since 2007.

Mayweather was escorted to the ring by Justin Bieber and Lil Wayne as he rapped “A Milli.”
