Well tis the season! Mary J. Blige served and slayed one of our favorite Christmas songs just in time for the transition into the holidays. Yesterday the Queen released the video for “Have Yourself a Merry Christmas,” from her new holiday album, A Mary Christmas. She told ESSENCE.com that she didn’t want to restructure the song, but sing it the way people love. And that is exactly what she did! “I was definitely not trying to make hip-hop soul Christmas songs or some club music Christmas songs,” said Blige. “I’m just like everyone else, I don’t like when people take the nostalgia out of the classics.”
