So this is why Aaron McGruder left the Boondocks…
Aaron McGruder is the mastermind behind the Adult Swim show The Boondocks. Since the third season has returned, there have been mixed reviews from viewers about the way the show is ran. Some feel that The Boondocks is not the same without McGruder, and I do have to agree. With all that said, McGruder is back with his new show on Adult Swim called Black Jesus.
The trailer for Black Jesus was shown over the weekend. This time around, McGruder went the live action route for his show. Placing Jesus in the city of Compton to help gangs, drunks, and other characters of the neighborHOOD.
Black Jesus is played by Gerald “Slink Johnson”. The show also features great actors like Charlie Murphy, John Whitherspoon, Corey Holcom, Angela Elayne Gibbs, Antwon Tanner, and Valenzia Algarin.
Black Jesus premiers Thursday, August 7th at 11 PM. Check out the trailer for the show below and set a reminder!
