In more uplifting women of color news, the NoVo Foundation, ran by billionaire Warren Buffett’s son and daughter-in-law, announced that their philanthropy organization will invest a whopping $90 million for seven years to help fight structural inequalities that young women of color face here in America.

According to Forbes, the $90 million, which “is the largest commitment of its kind made by a private foundation to date, will be granted for “policy efforts on a national level and grassroots advocacy.”

Even better? These efforts will be “girl-led, girl-driven and designed to address the systemic and institutional challenges faced by girls and young women of color across the country. This commitment builds on the leadership of women of color who have worked for years to further this movement,” confirmed Pamela Shifman, Executive Director of the NoVo Foundation Shifman.

In a statement, Jennifer Buffett, co-president of the NoVo Foundation, stressed that she is thrilled to get this off the ground given the potential it has to transform lives. “Inherently, girls and young women of color already hold incredible power and potential. This work is about dismantling the barriers that prevent them from realizing that potential and leading us toward a truly transformative movement for change,” she said.

Her husband and co-president, Peter Buffett added, “Our goal is to create the conditions for change by advancing the work of the real experts in this movement: girls and young women of color and the advocates working with them.”

NoVo Foundation aren’t the only ones committed to changing the outcomes for Black women. Earlier this week, U.S. Reps. Bonnie Watson Coleman (D-N.J.), Robin Kelly (D-Ill.) and Yvette D. Clarke (D-N.Y.), announced the creation of the very first Congressional Caucus for Black Women and Girls.
