Flint, Michigan has been approved by the Senate to get funding for their prolonged water crisis.

The U.S. Senate passed the Water Resources Development Act 95-3 bill that will send $170 million in federal funds to help fix Flint’s drinking water system that was contaminated by lead from aging pipes.

The bill will also provide $50 million for healthcare for children with lead poisoning.

Families of Flint are still unable to drink the water out of their faucets, which lets us know that the problem is still far from over. There is still a lot of work to be done.

So what’s next?

The bill will be passed on to the House for approval; then to the President. If the President signs, then it will become a bill.
