Madam C.J. Walker has had a resurgence with a new line, Beauty Culture. The collection contains four different formulas and collections that will do everything from mega moisturizing your hair to taming your frizz.

I used their silkening formula that ensures smooth style. It’s perfect for blowouts, which entails brassica seed and shea oil.

Madam C.J. Walker’s original formula is currently on display at The National Museum Of African-American History And Culture and the three ingredient formula contains one surprising ingredient: ox marrow!

The original formula is:

1 pint vaseline

Jar Ox Marrow

Geranium Oil

Stir 3 ingredients together and add enough oil to perfume.

Marrow has a high content of minerals, vitamins, fatty acids and lipids – all essentials for strong, healthy hair. Beauties, would you have used the original formula now knowing it contains marrow?
