The Gambia, a small country located in West Africa surrounded by Senegal and is known for the opening scene of the movie “Roots”.  The Gambia was colonized by the British and later gained Independence in 1964.  Since then it has had two (2) Presidents.  The current and maybe outgoing President for the pass 22 years Yahya Jammeh, reportedly lost the election held early December 2016.  So far, the votes counted have President-Elect Adama Barrow has the new President of Gambia. It is still quiet in the Gambia with no reports of violence.  Let’s pray that things stay this way as the country sort things out to have a safe transition of power.
