Russian President Vladimir V. Putin has decided that he won’t expel any U.S. diplomats in response to President Obama’s sanctions on Russian diplomats and intelligence agencies. “While we reserve the right to take reciprocal measures, we’re not going to downgrade ourselves to the level of irresponsible ‘kitchen’ diplomacy,” said Putin in a statement on Friday. “In our future steps on the way toward the restoration of Russia-U.S. relations, we will proceed from the policy pursued by the administration of D. Trump.” President Obama took action after it was discovered that Russia had an influence on the 2016 presidential election. Former Heisman Trophy Winner’s Death Ruled As A Suicide
The cause of death for former NFL player and Heisman Trophy winner Rashaan Salaam has been revealed. According to reports, Salaam’s death has been ruled as a suicide. He died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. “An autopsy was completed and the cause of death was determined to be a gunshot wound to the head. The manner of death was suicide,” said the Boulder County Coroner on Thursday. His loved ones believe that he suffered from chronic traumatic encephalopathy, a deteriorating brain disease that has often been linked to head trauma associated with contact sports like football. Washington Airport Employees To Possibly Get Pay Raises In 2017
Employees at Reagan National and Dulles International airports have fought all year for pay raises and better benefits. When the new year comes, they may finally get what they have been asking for. The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority are reportedly working on a plan to implement pay raises in efforts to retain their workforce. “It is in everyone’s interest that we have a stable workforce,” said J. Walter Tejada, a member of the MWAA board. Some of the airport workers earn $6 per hour and are looking to have that rate increased to $15 per hour. Read more.
GOP Has No Obamacare Replacement
GOP representatives are looking to devise a plan to repeal Obamacare, however, they reportedly have no plans in regards to what will serve as a replacement for the Affordable Care Act. “They haven’t come to a consensus in the House and the Senate about the possible replacement plans,” says economist Douglas Holtz-Eakin. “They don’t know Point B.” Republicans are reportedly still trying to figure out how long enacting the repeal should be delayed. Run-DMC’s Darryl McDaniels Files Copyright Infringement Suit
Hip-hop legend Darryl McDaniels, the founder of the Run-DMC collective, is taking legal action against Amazon and another retail giant. McDaniels is suing the retailers for selling merchandise that featured Run-DMC’s name without the group’s approval. According to the copyright infringement lawsuit, which was filed in the U.S. District Court in Manhattan on Thursday, the retailers sold products that includes hats, shirts, wallets, and glasses that all violate a trademark that was registered in 2007. McDaniels says that the products conflict with other endorsements and licensing agreements that the group has with other brands. He is seeking $50 million in damages. Read more.
