The new was 1997 and a young lady from Texas had the world rocking Ankhs, Afrocentric head dresses and understanding her Baduizm. Her name was Erykah Badu and her song “Other Side of the Game” gave a depiction of love and the hardships it can have when someone is doing some illegal dirt to maintain the family. This is one of my favorite songs and the video was shot all in one shot which was super dope for the time. Let us not forget it also featured her boo thang at that time and baby daddy Andre 3000 from Outkast.
