(Silver Spring, MD) — A same-sex couple is claiming management at the Tastee Diner in Silver Spring forced the two of them to leave the restaurant simply because the two of them were hugging. Aiyi’nah Ford and Torian Brown say they were asked to leave the establishment as they were embracing after eating a meal there last week. The two women returned to the restaurant Wednesday night with supporters, seeking an apology. They did not receive one. Ford told WJLA-TV they were only hugging when they were asked to leave. General Manager John Littleton admits the two women were asked to leave, but says it had nothing to do with their sexual orientation. Littleton said quote, “We get all sorts of inappropriate behavior whether it’s sleeping in a booth, putting your feet up or inappropriate touching. And we felt it was inappropriate touching.”
