Pretty V recently stopped by The Morning Hustle, but not as her usual comedic self. She was in full character as the nosy Jamaican auntie, Sharron. During this lively interview, she shone a spotlight on one of the characters she’s to the main stage for a one-night-only performance on July 19 at Center Stage in Atlanta. Pretty V explained that she realized there are so many Caribbean cultures in America that could relate to Sharron, and she wanted to connect with her fans on that level.

When asked about Chet Hanks’ infamous Jamaican accent, she didn’t hold back. “Even though I love him, it was a zero,” she quipped, suggesting that he visit Jamaica more often to get it right. Pretty V’s ability to create new characters and try different things comes from spending time alone, allowing her imagination to run wild.

An HBCU graduate, Pretty V briefly mentioned her time in Charlotte working with DaBaby’s team during his rise to stardom. Initially entering the industry with dreams of becoming a radio personality, she acknowledges that God had different plans for her.
