Everyone knew the day would come when a current male athlete would come out and announce he is gay, but no one knew when until today. The 34-year-old Washington Wizard journeyman center announced in a Sports Illustrated interview of his sexuality. This is an intriguing and definite conversation piece to speak about or is it really? Being gay these days shouldn’t be tapped at Taboo as it was years ago but then again not everyone thinks the same. Collins mentions he grew up in a Christian household along with his twin brother. He said he did the “normal” things as a man by dating women and getting engaged but he had to stay true to himself. He felt as if he was keeping a piece of him at bay because he thought he was doing the right things a certain way.
