When Oprah Winfrey first started her own television network Oprah Winfrey Network better yet known as OWN, it was a little scary for the billionaire. The OWN network launched back in January 2011 which was not a hit as Oprah thought it would be. Ratings for the OWN network put Oprah’s future in jeopardy. The Queen of talk hosting was sinking to possibly not to rise no more.
But wait! Good friend Tyler Perry saves the Queen talk host Oprah from sinking. Tyler Pery calls good friend Oprah up and offers a partnership to save her network.
Tyler Perry who started from living in his car, now owning his own production company Tyler Perry Studios is doing well enough that he extended his creativity to Oprah.
This past Sunday on Oprah’s Next Chapter, Tyler and Oprah discussed how he called her up and pitched two scripted television series to pretty much help her television network out. Oprah admitted she was scared of the two partnering up because of their bond. But, they both are please thus far with the results of their partnership and plan to continue to work together on other projects.
The two sitcoms that are now featuring on OWN network by Tyler Perry are The Haves and The Have Nots and Love Thy Neighbor. Tyler and Oprah promised we the viewers will not be disappointed with these two shows. I’ll be watching to see for myself.
