In a weekend that was full emotional turmoil for two families and the nation based off of the verdict for the George Zimmerman trial, there may be some new developments. Although, George Zimmerman was acquitted on Saturday of both second-degree murder and manslaughter when tried by the State of Florida, the U.S. Department of Justice has now started an investigation on the shooting of Trayvon Martin. In essence if this goes to court there could be jail time for Mr. Zimmerman. The nation was set motionless from the verdict of this case on Saturday night. It lead to many non-violent protests to bring to light of the senseless death of 17-year old boy in Florida. This case shocked our country and the nation and civil right activists have been in full motion to get this case reevaluated from a civil rights perspective. Follow more on this story here!
