Kayla Phillips, a 21 year old nursing student from Canarsie was accused of credit card fraud while shopping at Barney’s in New York. Four undercover NYPD police officers attacked the young lady as she was walking out the store after purchasing a $2,500 Celine designer bag. Reportedly this is not the first time NYPD police officers and Barney’s have racial profiled a shopper. Trayon Christian was attacked by police after purchasing a $349 Ferragamo belt recently. Phillips however is planning to sue the NYPD as well as Barney’s store. Barney’s released a statement saying they have a zero tolerance for any form of discrimination and they had nothing to do with the incident. They only sold Phillips her bag. Soooo a level headed, well driven black young lady can’t go to an upscale store and treat herself without being judged and attacked? Cray-Cray!
