August Alsina has been out of the spotlight for a minute as he’s busy putting the finishing touches on his sophomore studio album, This Thing Called Life.
Late last night, however, the New Orleans singer uploaded two videos to his Instagram account that featured DJ Khaled speaking very highly of the project. The hitmaker even went as far as drawing parallels between August’s forthcoming album and Dr. Dre’s The Chronic, as well as Nas’ Illmatic.
“I like the way you sequenced the album,” DJ Khaled can be heard saying during the IG clip. “The only time I ever heard an album like that was like a Dr. Dre ‘The Chronic,’ or a Nas ‘Illmatic.’”
That’s a pretty big comparison. Do you think This Thing Called Life will live up to the hype? As of yet, no release date has been confirmed so until then, enjoy one of the first releases off the project, “Why I Do It” featuring Lil Wayne.
