This one was pretty predictable as far as NFL season openers go. Antonio Brown, in spite of himself, got his touches. Rob Gronkowski is still indisputably great. Tom Brady and his mug again came out on top over their overmatched opponents. The Patriots still looked strong as they rolled over the Steelers, 28-21.
While Ben Roethlisberger was still formidable with his 26-for-38, one-touchdown performance, it couldn’t hold a candle to Brady’s four touchdowns. Three of them came through the unguardable Gronkowski, who finished with 94 yards.
Steelers also squeezed out great performances from DeAngelo Williams and Brown. The former, in his first game as a Steeler, rushed for 127 yards on 21 attempts. Brown earned 133 yards and scored the game’s final touchdown in the closing seconds. Pittsburgh proved it has weapons, but the Patriots proved they’re still the best.
