The NFL’s golden boy and golf buddy to The Donald was asked about their friendship for the first time since Trump called for a ban on Muslims entering the U.S.
“Can I just stay out of this debate?” Brady laughed during his Tuesday Morning interview on WEEI. “Donald is a good friend of mine. I have known him for a long time. I support all my friends. That is what I have to say. He’s a good friend of mine. He’s always been so supportive of me — for the last 15 years, since I judged a beauty pageant for him, which was one of the very first things that I did that thought was really cool. That came along with winning the Super Bowl. He’s always invited me to play golf. I’ve always enjoyed his company.”
Brady pretty much skirted the entire question and focused more on Trump as a friend than as a political heavyweight. But he did mention that his ability to go from a businessman, to a TV darling, to getting into politics is “pretty remarkable.”
Similar to his performance on the field, Brady remained pretty calm when under pressure in the pocket and reacted smoothly.
