South Carolina Woman Allegedly Set Sleeping Husband On Fire

A South Carolina woman has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly trying to kill her husband by setting him on fire while he was sleeping, the Associated Press reported. Lashawn Stevens Hardy, 44, was also charged with second-degree arson.

Hardy’s husband, whose name wasn’t released to the media, told police that Hardy poured gasoline on him while he was asleep and set him on fire, The AP noted. The victim was flown to a Georgia hospital to be treated for second-degree burns on his back and neck.

As of now, it’s unknown if Hardy has legal representation.

Black Student Says Racist Epitaphs Were Written On Her Bananas

A Black college student at Warwick University in the UK claims that she was a victim of racism by her campus roommates, Buzzfeed reported. Faramade Ifaturotu, 19, said she was “disgusted” and took to Twitter, tweeting her school, to share what happened.

Her friend also Tweeted that they found a picture of Donald Trump on the fridge.

The made a statement later on saying that they were investigating the situation. “A senior member of the University’s Residential Life Team is in direct contact with the student concerned and the student has been offered alternative accommodation in a number of other locations on campus while the matter is being investigated,” the school wrote in a statement.

Ifaturoti told BuzzFeed News that she felt “targeted,” but that “this is not the first time something like this has happened.”

Over the weekend in front of a crowd of female leaders, Real Housewives of New York and Skinnygirl founder really put her foot in her mouth, All Digitocracy wrote.

According to Mary Pryor, an attendee during an event for Rent The Runway’s and UBS’s Project Entrepreneur, Bethenny Frankel allegedly told the crowd that she felt closer to Black women because she was “loud” too. In addition, she said that women of color who own organizations and businesses need a white man to be the face of their company in order to get funds.

Sigh.

Attendees took to Twitter to express their discontent and call out the organization for not condemning Frankel’s statements. Instead, according to Pryor, the mics were taken away from women of color at the event for “starting a fight.” Unfortunately, the session, which took place in New York City wasn’t recorded
