Sanaa Lathan To Star In Upcoming FOX Drama ‘Shots Fired’
Sanaa Lathan is gearing up to star in FOX’s Shots Fired. The 10-hour drama series chronicles the life of a Black cop played by Tristan (Mack) Wilds, who shoots an unarmed white college student in a racially split Southern town.
Lathan has expressed her excitement on social media. “I CANNOT wait for you to see this one,” she said via Facebook yesterday (May 16). “#ShotsFired…Such an important story to tell. A mystery/thriller inspired by the racial tensions and polices shootings in our country, specifically the deaths of African American men and women at the hands of law enforcement and #theblacklivesmatter movement.”
Shots Fired was created by Love & Basketball writer Gina Prince-Bythewood and is set to premiere this fall. Watch the series trailer above.
