Are Cynthia Bailey & Peter Thomas Done For Good?

Real Housewives of Atlanta star Cynthia Bailey has given her marriage to Peter Thomas all she’s got. With all of the bumps in the road that we’ve watched play out on the show, from the couple’s financial troubles to questions of fidelity, it seems Bailey has decided to throw in the towel.

E! News caught up with Cynthia at her Cynthia Bailey Eyewear booth at Essence Festival over the weekend, and confirmed her plans to part ways with her estranged husband following their separation of five months.

“I want to take some time for myself. I think the time apart has been good for him as well. It wasn’t like I had to do it right this second but the more we got used to not being together and living together, the easier this divorce is going to be,” the 49-year-old reality star told E! News exclusively.

“I don’t want it to be an ugly divorce because I still love Peter. I just don’t want to be married to Peter anymore. It’s as simple as that. I still root for him. I want him to win. I still love and support him. We are just not going to be married anymore.”

This isn’t the first time Cynthia has addressed the impending divorce. In an interview with Us Weekly, she confirmed that time apart has been beneficial in structuring a life without Peter. “I am spending time with my daughter, and taking some time for myself. Whatever the future holds for my marriage, I have given over to God. I appreciate everyone’s kind words and prayers.”
