New U.S. News rankings highlight the top hospitals serving the Washington, D.C. region, with several facilities earning national and high-performing honors.
The Washington, D.C. region has no shortage of highly rated hospitals, according to the latest rankings from U.S. News & World Report.
U.S. News evaluated hospitals across the District and surrounding communities in Maryland and Virginia based on specialty care, procedures and conditions. Several hospitals earned national recognition, while others were named high performing across multiple areas of care.
Here are the top-ranked Best Regional Hospitals in the Washington, D.C. area, according to U.S. News:
1. MedStar Washington Hospital Center — No. 1 Best Regional Hospital
Nationally ranked in two adult specialties and high performing in three specialties and 20 procedures and conditions.
2. Inova Fairfax Hospital — No. 2 Best Regional Hospital
Nationally ranked in one adult specialty and one children’s specialty and high performing in three specialties and 18 procedures and conditions.
3. VHC Health — No. 3 Best Regional Hospital
High performing in one specialty and 17 procedures and conditions.
4. George Washington University Hospital — No. 4 Best Regional Hospital
