Washington Mystics Bolster Roster with Deep 2025 Draft Class

The Washington Mystics emerged from the 2025 WNBA Draft with a dynamic group of players ready to inject energy, versatility, and depth into their roster. Focused on addressing needs in both the backcourt and frontcourt, the Mystics assembled a class that blends scoring, defense, and high basketball IQ.
Headlining their picks are Sonia Citron and Kiki Iriafen, third and fourth overall selections, adding all-around skill on the wing and athletic presence in the paint. Alongside them, Georgia Amoore brings creativity and playmaking ability to the guard rotation, while Lucy Olsen and Zaay Green contribute perimeter shooting and defensive toughness.
An all-around force at Notre Dame, Sonia Citron was the Mystics’ first selection. Citron’s offensive versatility, basketball IQ, and defensive tenacity make her a strong fit in Washington’s system. Standing at 6’1”, she excels as a playmaker and scorer, both on and off the ball. Her ability to guard multiple positions will greatly benefit the Mystics on the defensive end.
2. Fourth Overall Pick: Kiki Iriafen (F, USC)
Kiki Iriafen brings athleticism and frontcourt depth to Washington. The 6’3” forward has a soft touch around the rim, excels in transition, and is a tenacious rebounder. Iriafen’s physical presence should complement the Mystics’ veteran posts while helping anchor the team’s interior defense.
Georgia Amoore, a crafty point guard, offers elite ball-handling, floor vision, and the ability to hit deep three-pointers. The Mystics add a dynamic playmaking guard who can push the pace and thrive in pick-and-roll situations. Her energy and leadership will likely make an immediate impact off the bench.
4. 23rd Overall Pick: Lucy Olsen (G, Iowa)
Lucy Olsen is a competitive guard known for her perimeter defense and shooting touch. Though not as high-profile as other picks, her work rate and ability to space the floor make her a valuable piece in a team-oriented system like the Mystics’.
5. 32nd Overall Pick: Zaay Green (G, Alabama)
Zaay Green rounds out the class with size and defensive prowess in the backcourt. Her 5’11” frame and aggressiveness add versatility on both ends of the court, giving Washington another reliable option against bigger guards.
