Despite being in a wheelchair and unable to walk, Oakland police arrested Melvin Stubbs, 65, on the suspicion that he had murdered his wife. An autopsy later revealed she died from acute bacterial meningitis. During his intake process, Stubbs' health continue to decline and he died in the jail's medical wing.
