Jay Kelly, the youngest child of R. Kelly and VH1 “Hollywood Exes” reality show star/dancer Andrea Kelly took to social media to reveal his identity as a transgender boy. On his Instagram account,Jay, who was born a female named Jaya, has changed his Instagram profile description to reflect his name change to “Jay, transguy, ukulele”. Jay says he has identified as a boy since the age of six or seven. “I hated dresses, I liked girls, I didn’t want breasts, I didn’t want a taco area, I didn’t want long hair, I am a boy.” When one of his Instagram followers asked why he didn’t come out as a lesbian, the teen responded, “Because that’s not who I am, why do you want me to be a lesbian?”
According to “In Touch Weekly,” Jay says his father wasn’t aware of his new identity as of three months ago.
He says his mom, Andrea, is supporting him two hundred percent. “[My mom] was like, ‘Baby, you know I love you if you were bi, gay, [lesbian], you name it and I would still love you so much. She was very proud of me, I was like, ‘Thank you mum for accepting the fact that I’m a transgender.’”
Jay, 13, eventually wants to do away with his breasts–which he refers to as his “overgrown pectorals”–take the appropriate meds and undergo surgery in order to complete the sex reassignment process.
