Charlotte, North Carolina will not be seeing MMG boss Rick Ross this weekend.  Ross was set to have a concert at the Bojangles Coliseum in the Queen City, but decided that it would be best not to make that stop.

Allegedly the concert is cancelled due to local gang, Gangsta Disciples, who sent threats to Ross and the MMG crew through YouTube videos.  The videos features members of the group warning the MMG camp to not stop in the city, and that if they did, there would be consequences.

Now, LiveNation, who is promoting the concert, and Ross have not confirmed that this was the reason, but it makes sense so it may be.  The gang is upset that Ross used the Star of David on his newest mixtape, Black Bar Mitzvah, which is a symbol that they are associated with as well.  (Side note: Do either parties practice the religion!?)

Charlotte-Mecklenburg County Police sent out a statement saying, “As always with large events such as this concert, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department will remain vigilant and work to ensure a safe environment for all those attending.”

Whether the threats from the gang were the reason of the cancellation or not, it is better to be safe than sorry.
