Lauryn Hill & TIDAL Are Having A Three-Day Charity Festival This Weekend
Lauryn Hill and TIDAL X just announced a three-day charity festival called Diaspora Calling! The music fest is set to go down this weekend at Brooklyn’s King’s Theatre.
Lauryn released a statement regarding the event:
“Diaspora Calling! is a collection of works intended to celebrate the rich tapestry of artists from the African Diaspora while also illumining persistent and irrepressible themes… Even if we work independently, we are a resounding collective voice, both reconciling and embracing our relationship to history, our origins, our future and to ourselves.”
The festival will celebrate popular artists in the African diaspora, including Wondaboy and JoJo Abot of Nigeria, Stonebwoy and El of Ghana, and Machel Montano, Stephen “Ragga” Marley, and Paul Beaubrun of the Caribbean.
