You’ve been seeing this videos surfacing of a young Destiny’s Child where Beyonce’ is seen throwing shade at other members. Probably the most popular one is the video where the group is introducing themselves and telling their roles, Kelly Rowland goes on to say that she is the second lead vocalist of the group and the camera then focuses on Beyonce’, highlighting her sarcastic reaction to Kelly’s comments. The shade is there, I don’t know how you can cover that up besides the fact that it’s so far in the past.

Anyway, Letoya Luckett spoke with MTV and shined some light on the situation saying that no shade was thrown. Oh ok. I love Toya Luckett though.

 MTV reports:

“Where’d it come from?” former member LeToya Luckett asked MTV News when promoting her VH1 show “Single Ladies.” “OK, yeah, so, I suddenly start getting texts on a particular day, I guess as soon as it surfaced and they were like, ‘Your face.’ And I was like, ‘What face? What are you talking about?’ And so I went and I looked and I died laughing because I don’t even know where that came from or why we were looking like that.”

Despite all the countless memes and articles accusing all three of the girls of throwing shade at Kelly, LeToya insists “people are making it out to be something that it was not.”

“Everybody is like, ‘Shade for Beyoncé’s cough,’ What if the girl had to cough?” she asked. “[What Kelly said] was the truth, we really would sit there and everybody knew their role. It was a real team, like, we were team players. B was first lead; Kelly was second lead; I was soprano; Tavia was the alto and she was the spokesperson. Everybody knew their lane so no one ever stepped in anyone else’s lane. That’s how every team should work.”

But just because LeToya denies the accusations, it doesn’t mean she can’t see what all the recent commotion was about.

“Our faces were hilarious, I did something crazy with my eyes, and now I’m like, ‘Why did I do that? That’s so mean,’ ” she said. “But I don’t think it was made, because what she said was so true, and we all knew that.”
