Say What? Black Lives Matter Activist Convicted For Felony Lynching

California activist Black Lives Matter organizer Jasmine Richards is facing four years in state prison after she was convicted for “felony lynching.” This rarely used charge refers to when a person tries to remove someone from police custody.

According to Democracy Now! Richards was arrested and charged with felony lynching last September, after police accused her of trying to de-arrest a Black woman who was accused of trying to skip out of the check last summer. During a peaceful protest across the street from the restaurant, Richards looked in and saw the police with the woman. People from the protest came into the restaurant to defend the woman.

According to Pasadena News Now, Richards, 28, was the first African-American ever actually tried on these charges, said her lawyer Nana Gyamfi.  As the verdict was read back, Richards broke down in tears saying, “I don’t want go to jail. I don’t want to go through this anymore,” she cried.

“This was a political prosecution, not a criminal prosecution,” said Gyamfi. “This was a jury that could not tell the difference between a loud Black person and a violent Black person. This jury has nothing to be proud of,” she added.

There were no African-Americans on Richards’ jury.

One of these days, folks are going to learn that someone is always watching your social media accounts, including your boss.

Christine McMullen Lindgren, who works in an Atlanta-based Bank of America, lost her job on Thursday when she went on a racist tirade on her Facebook page. According to Atlanta-Journal Constitution, she wrote,  “you f—-king n-words and yes if [you] can call each other that well I can too f—-king n-word go back to Africa get over your pity party you created this hatred and your own kind that brought your great great grandparents over here and sold them.”

Anger much?

Well, people blasted her for her comments and flooded Bank of America with complaints, AJC noted. Soon after, Andy Aldridge, a senior vice president and communications manager for the bank said that Lindgren’s comments were “reprehensible and unacceptable” and that the company had given her the boot.

“We have investigated the matter and terminated her,” Aldridge said. “She no longer works for Bank of America.”

California mom Sarah Dome had no idea her son’t birth was being live streamed or that it would be the first-ever to happen in the history of the website. Dome admitted that Kali Kanongata, her baby father, did it without her knowledge.

“I was really, really surprised, like ‘Oh my gosh, how could you do this?’ For everyone to tune in and watch me have a baby, shocking,” she told Inside Edition. “I just had a baby it was a beautiful moment so I can’t be mad too long but he’s going to hear about it for the rest of his life.”

Yet, Kanongata thought he put the video on private, but that wasn’t the case.

Soon after, the Child Protective Services stepped in and took custody of the little baby boy, Inside Edition reported. Someone called the authorities when they believed they recognized the father from a past domestic violence allegation, an allegation he denies.

“They came in and took our baby, I only spent one night with him,” she said.

They are currently have to face a judge to get custody of their baby back.
