Last night’s 2013 BET Awards had everyone and their momma come out to the event. We saw Big Sean, Nicki Minaj, French Montana, J Cole, and even Bobby Brown! But there was one body missing from the equation of the show, and that was Drake.
Everyone was wondering, “Where is Drake”, when finding out that he was a no show for the 13′ BET Awards. It was so odd, because of the work that he had done with nominated artists, and because he was nominated for several awards himself. Drake was nominated for 12 awards! With everyone wondering where Drake was and why he didn’t come to the show, the YMCMB and OVO rapper took to our favorite social platform to explain…TWITTER!!!!!!!
Drake sent out a tweet last night, explaining why he went AWOL. In 140 or less, Drake tweets, “”Thank you to BET and to the fans for voting! I’m home finishing the album and spending time w/ family before we begin our journey Sept 17”. Drake was and is still putting in work for his anticipated Nothing Was The Same album. Cannot knock the young man for choosing work over “partying”.
Although Drake was working, he did scoop up ‘Viewers Choice Award’ and ‘Best Collaboration’ as well. Now that we all know Drake’s where abouts last night, we can sit and anticipate his project Nothing Was The Same on September 17th.
