According to Jonathan Cainer: Your Week Ahead: Deconstruction is always easier than reconstruction. If you want to take something apart, all you need is a screwdriver or a critical frame of mind. Now, in much the same way that we can take apart a machine, we can find fault with anyone or anything. Creativity, though, calls […]

According to Jonathan Cainer: Your Week Ahead: The pen, they say, is mightier than the sword. That’s not necessarily true, though, if you happen to find yourself in the middle of a fencing match. There are times when we find ourselves having to resort to clumsy mechanisms and primitive techniques. You rather wish that you could […]

According to Jonathan Cainer: Your Week Ahead: Old habits are hard to break. We do what we have always done. We do it without thinking. We just get on with whatever we usually get on with – even if, deep down within, we know that this is not good for us, we get on with it […]

According to Jonathan Cainer: Your Week Ahead: Imagine, for a moment, that you are thirsty. Unfortunately, you happen to be wandering through a desert. Parched and tired, you come across a puddle of stale rainwater. Working on the assumption that this has got to be better than nothing, you ignore the risk to health and begin, […]

According to Jonathan Cainer: Your Week Ahead: Why do we do the same thing, over and over again? Because we enjoy it? Because we are too tired to explore an alternative? Because it is what’s expected of us? Because nothing could make us happier? Because all other options are closed to us? There are many reasons […]

You see life differently now. You can’t deny what you consider to be important, nor can you pretend to yourself that […]

According to Jonathan Cainer: Your Week Ahead: Nothing detracts from quality of life like a fixed opinion or a closed mind. The moment we make an emphatic statement about anyone or anything, we set a trap for our future selves. We can guarantee that there will come a moment when we have to question the great […]

According to Jonathan Cainer: Your Week Ahead: We live, we learn, we carry on living… and carry on learning. You suspect you were wrong to feel afraid of a particular situation or possibility. You didn’t need to fight against it – or try to escape it – or kick up half as much fuss as you […]

According to Jonathan Cainer: Your Week Ahead: The trouble with being determined to make something happen by hook or by crook is that this can prevent you from recognising a much easier way to attain your objective. Like a boxer who has been in training for a big fight you’re psyched up for a showdown. What […]

According to Jonathan Cainer: Your Week Ahead: Imagine what it must be like – or feel like – to be the Sun. There you are, slap bang in the centre. All about you the planets twirl as they slowly circle you at different speeds and distances. Around and around, they go. You see the same patterns […]
