According to Jonathan Cainer: When we go to the circus, we pay good money to watch a balancing act. When one person stands on another person’s head, we applaud – especially if the one below is riding a unicycle whilst the one on the top is juggling torches of fire. In our daily lives, though, […]

According to Jonathan Cainer: If someone could charge for air, they would. Really, given that we are all trying to build a capitalist utopia and have had a nasty knock from the credit crunch, it’s most unreasonable of nature to keep on supplying so much free stuff. What’s all this with the water, the sunshine, […]

According to Jonathan Cainer: Watch out for exercise bicycle syndrome in your emotional life! Minutes spent pedalling convert into calories lost and strength gained. Imagine, though, how disappointed you would feel if you were to push your feet in the hope of actually travelling somewhere. You’d climb off, exhausted, only to realise you had moved […]

According to Jonathan Cainer: Respect is rarely given to those who are smartest, brightest or wisest. Accolades are instead heaped upon those whose endeavours are just slightly better than mediocre. It’s the short neck syndrome. Most folk can’t crane far enough to spot the truly tall poppies so they focus on the flowers that are […]

According to Jonathan Cainer:: When is a problem not a problem? When, most of the time, you can forget that you’ve got it. Or when it is forcing you to do something that needs to be done – and that you can only gain from doing. So, when is a problem a problem? When it […]

According to Jonathan Cainer: Do you have enough put aside for the rainiest of days? What if there’s a downpour lasting months? Perhaps you’d best save more, just in case. What about the people you may need to count on one day? Will they forget their allegiance. Why not put them to the test now […]

According to Jonathan Cainer: When you were small, a part of you didn’t know much. Another part, though, knew plenty. Through your childhood you were taught to fill your head with facts and figures whilst ignoring your inner voice. Now you can hardly remember what you once knew so well. Every so often though, you […]

According to Jonathan Cainer: Everywhere you turn, you seem to come across reasons why certain things cannot be done, changed or even considered. Nor, though, can any of these things be accepted. Someone is refusing to recognize a solution. So entrenched has their mood of pessimism become that they almost appear willing to saw off […]

According to Jonathan Cainer: Let us stop to think about lakes and oceans. How are we supposed to tell how deep they are? Even when the water is perfectly still, we can gain a deceptive impression of what lies below – and where. The same can be said of people. Some appear to be terribly […]

According to Jonathan Cainer: How much power do we really have? There are weeks when we long to say that we believe ourselves to be capable of achieving almost anything. There are other weeks when we just can’t get anything together. It begins to seem as if the fates are conspiring against us. In truth, […]

According to Jonathan Cainer: Leos rarely lead simple lives. Nor, despite the numerous occasions on which they promise themselves that from now on all will be different, do they get to lead quiet ones. Now, before you start to feel sorry for yourself, I should point out that if, by some magical chance, your life […]

According to Jonathan Cainer: You know more than you think. Not only have you read, heard, absorbed and understood more than you realise, but you have your inherited memory to draw on. There are some things all human beings know, instinctively, if they stop long enough to listen to their inner voice. Your intuition is […]
